REPLOID's Business Model
REPLOID offers an innovative system for the industrial utilization of regional organic residues from the food industry.
REPLOID uses organic residues as the basis for robust circular‑economy models, creating added value for both the environment and economic performance. To achieve this, the company transfers natural processes that insects have performed for millions of years to an industrial scale.
The challenge?
Organic residues are generated in agriculture, in the food processing industry, and in the grocery retail sector. Their disposal is costly and causes emissions. At the same time, there is a strong demand for animal protein, high‑quality fats, and organic fertilizers.

The solution.
For its customers, REPLOID builds ReFarmUnits – modular facilities in which Black Soldier Fly larvae process organic residues from the food industry.
In these ReFarmUnits, young Black Soldier Fly larvae receive a site-specific feed mix. This mix is developed on the basis of REPLOID’s own research and development using residual materials from the regional food value chain.

During the roughly one-week feeding period, the larvae grow to 25 times their initial weight. The customers then either use the larvae themselves or sell them back to REPLOID. The same applies to the by‑products from the larvae’s bioconversion process, the so‑called insect frass.
REPLOID either markets the larvae directly or processes it into protein and fat, for example for customers in the animal feed industry. In addition, REPLOID owns its own pet food brands that use insect protein.
The insect frass serves as the basis for REPLOID’s organic premium fertilizer.
What REPLOID Actually Builds?
A system that turns waste into valuable resources, closes regional gaps, and can be scaled globally.
