InnoManager | Innovation management for sustainable insect production
About the project
REPLOID Deutschland GmbH (formerly madebymade GmbH) is establishing a structured in‑house innovation management system at its Pegau site (Saxony) to systematically drive process, product, and organizational innovations in sustainable insect biotechnology. As the insect biotechnology industry is not yet ten years old but global competition is intensifying rapidly, long‑term competitiveness depends on excellent, systematic innovation processes in process optimization, product development, and agile team organization.
This project replaces a previously unsystematic approach with a structured, data-driven innovation management system that purposefully connects interdisciplinary teams from production, R&D, sales, and management and accelerates innovation cycles. The insights gained and the solutions developed will strengthen REPLOID’s market position in a consolidating global insect sector and form the basis for further sustainable growth in Saxony.
Objectives
- Establish a corporate strategic innovation management system for process, product, and organizational innovations
- Improve key production KPIs (e.g. bioconversion rate, neonate larvae hatch rate, fresh larvae transport)
- Develop at least two new marketable products and/or processes based on the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens)
- Implement agile methods and interdisciplinary organizational structures for efficient innovation teams
- Strengthen awareness of innovation and IP protection within the company
