InnoManager | Innovation Management for Sustainable Insect Production
About the project
REPLOID Deutschland GmbH (formerly madebymade GmbH) is establishing a structured internal innovation management system at its Pegau (Saxony) facility to systematically advance process, product, and organizational innovations in sustainable insect biotechnology.
While insect biotechnology as an industry is less than ten years old, global competition is growing rapidly. To remain competitive in the long term, excellent and systematic innovation processes are essential — spanning process optimization, product development, and agile team organization. This project replaces a previously unstructured approach with a structured, data-driven innovation management system that deliberately connects interdisciplinary teams across production, research, sales, and management, and accelerates innovation cycles.
The insights gained and products developed will strengthen REPLOID's market position in a consolidating global insect market and lay the foundation for continued sustainable growth at the Saxony site.
Objectives
Establish a strategic internal innovation management system for process, product, and organizational innovations
Improve key production KPIs (e.g., bioconversion rate, juvenile larvae hatching rate, fresh larvae transport)
Develop at least two new marketable products and/or processes based on the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens)
Implement agile methods and interdisciplinary organizational structures for efficient innovation teams
Strengthen awareness of innovation and IP protection within the company
